I thought some of you might like an update on how things are progressing with my pregnancy. I mean why wouldnt you right? ;)
How Far Along: 14 weeks
How Far Along: 14 weeks
Size of baby: thebump.com says Baby Olive is the size of a lemon this week.
Total Weight Gained: I started at 110.5 lbs. (per the Dr's scale and Wii Fit) and now weigh 109 per Wii Fit. I dont think that's right. I've been eating plenty and definitely have the beginnings of a baby bump. I'm betting Ive gained a pound or two in the last few weeks since I stopped being so sick, though I suppose it's possible that I lost weight when I was sick and am just regaining now.
Maternity Clothes: Not yet, but I have bought some from Old Navy. They were having an awesome sale and I just couldnt pass it up (twice)! I am still fitting into my regular clothes, though I do have to use the rubber band trick (using a rubber band looped through the button and hole to keep them closed) with most of my jeans.
Gender: We find out in 5 more weeks. I cant wait! At first I had a feeling that it was a boy, but in the last few weeks, Im thinking more girl. Last night I had a dream that it was twins, a boy and a girl. Luckily, we know that that there is only one Baby Olive in there! We honestly dont care either way, we just want our baby to be healthy.
Movement: Still too early for that.
Sleep: I thought I was going to avoid the pregnancy fatigue, but it hit me around week 11. Most days I need an afternoon nap and am still ready for bed around 9-10pm. Before week 11 I wasnt fatigued or sleepy at all. I was constantly nauseated, but not sleepy. Ill take sleepy over nauseated any day. I have had some insomnia, but it comes and goes. I have been having very interesting and vivid dreams- tornadoes, people breaking into our house, shark attacks, races and catching large fish are among the most recent ones.
What I miss: Having a glass of wine with dinner, though the craving for wine hasnt really hit me yet. I also havent missed coffee either. For the first 11 weeks coffee was a huge aversion and now it just doesnt interest me. I hope that goes away after the birth. I love my coffee!
Cravings: Mmm.... Sour cream, cereal and fruit right now. I seriously can not get enough fruit. We have apples, oranges, bananas, kiwis, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cantaloupe and grapes in our house right now. This is a great thing since Im still not digging veggies very much. Early on I was craving cupcakes, cheetos and cinnamon rolls. Good to see my craving are taking a healthier swing.
Aversions: Broccoli, spinach, lettuce, most vegetables unless mixed in with other things.
Symptoms: Lower back pain is the worst. The breast tenderness is disappearing. Dizziness, occasional nausea, peeing ALL. THE. TIME with occasional bladder pain. Nothing major thankfully.
Best Moment this week: Scheduling our gender/anatomy ultrasound, picking out the nursing furniture. Oh, and all the back rubs J has been giving me!

My friend lost 20 lbs in the beginning and just barely started gaining weight at 15 weeks. That can't be right, right?
I lost 20 pounds in the first trimester with my first child. I gained it all back, plus 40 extra pounds. It's very normal to lose during the days of morning (noon and night) sickness.
And you've dreamt about catching fish? That makes me giggle, BUT would be considered a nightmare for me. (I am terrified of fish.)
LOVE all those best moments. :) Yay for babies!!
It's possible to lose weight during the first couple weeks of pregnancy. I can't wait for you to find out what the baby is :D
I love it! I have already lost a pound but I think it's due to no beer/wine and I am not really interested in junk food.
Ugh! I had green vegetable aversions big-time during my entire pregnancy. Good thing God invented Psyllium husk fiber :)
The peeing thing will stop once the baby gets more room since it's sitting on your bladder right now. I can't stand the spinach either. I'm good with green beans and salad but mostly I like the cold juicy fruits and veggies. And I drink milk ALL THE TIME! Seriously, I go through a gallon about every 3 days...by myself! We find out on the 4th!!
So exciting! Love the name of the website "thebump.com", that's so cute! Hope you manage to catch up on some rest after all the fatigue. I can't even begin to imagine how much of a toll that pregnancy takes on a body.
