Wife of a Sailor hosts MilSpouse Friday Fill-in every Friday and I think it's a fun way to get to know other milspouse bloggers.
*What is ONE thing you'd like civilians to understand about being a military family?
I suppose that all of the "perks" that they think we get are more like compensation for all of the hardships that we endure. We arent living the high life on others tax dollars. What they see in movies and on TV isn't real life.
*What is your favorite mistake?
This is a tough one. Im going to take the easy way out and say something related to travel. J & I almost always get lost at least once on every road trip that we take. Usually, these "mistakes" lead to something cool that we wouldn't have gotten to see otherwise. Most recently this happened to us while trying to find a gas station off the Autobahn on our way home from Amsterdam. We mistakenly thought there was one between the border and home on the Autobahn. When we realized there wasnt, we set off to find one in the backwoods of Germany. Luckily, we happened upon one of the most beautiful villages we have ever seen, surrounded by a river and vineyards. We can't wait to go back! (and yes, we found a gas station, just before we ran out of gas!)
*What indulgence could you give up for a year?
Coffee. It would be incredibly difficult some days, and easy others, but I think I could do it. Once Im prego, Im also going to have to give up wine. That is going to be difficult with a capital D. The not drinking part will be easy, but the watching others drink it part will not.
*If you could be a winged animal, what would you be?
Hmm, while penguins are awfully cute, if Im going to be a winged animal, I want to be able to fly! I would choose to be a swan. They are gorgeous, can fly, and mate for life.
*What is one question you'd like to see asked in a future MFF?
I always love to hear how soulmates met, so How did you and your husband (significant other) meet?
On a similar note: How did your husband propose? (and if you arent engaged/married- what is your dream proposal?)
So the hubs comes back from his TDY very soon, which means I will have our laptop once again. I've got two posts on Holland all ready to go and once I insert some photos, Ill post them. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and Happy Friday!

You know, I love hearing how people met their spouses as well!
BTW, I love the bookshelf idea on the left. I might have to make one for myself.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Ooo... I like your answer to #2!
Thanks for joining this week and I hope to see you next week!
Swans are my favorite bird! One of my favorite things about them is basically the story of "The Ugly Duckling." We all start out kind of awkward, but eventually we grow into ourselves and we're beautiful :) (Sappy, I know.)
Sean and I also have crazy road trip stories. I'm glad we aren't the only ones that crazy things happen to. Also, I'm so with you on the not drinking wine while pregnant. It's going to be so difficult for me. I think that's one reason I don't want to get pregnant while in Italy!
Oh I like your idea for a question! I love hearing how couples met as well!
I totally forgot about penguins!!! i had the hardest time with that questions so I kinda sorta bailed on it...Swans are cute, too!
